Late Summer Menu, 2016

Mondays: Rice Day

Salad: Raw veggies (peppers, carrots) and hummus

Main: Black bean and corn rice bowl

Cheese: Shredded cheddar

Dessert: Zucchini bread


Tuesdays: Bread Day

Salad: California kale salad with almonds and oranges

Main: Bread de la maison with organic butter

Cheese: none

Dessert: Greek yogurt and seasonal fruit


Wednesdays: Roots day

Salad-Main: Raw grated beet and shallot salad served with a slice of wild-yeasted bread and butter. (Wild yeast starter now over 4 years old.)

Cheese: Fromage blanc (a light, cream cheese, somewhat like yogurt)

Dessert: Seasonal Fruit


Thursdays: Grains Day

Salad: Green salad (spinach, lettuce, or kale)

Main: Buckwheat crêpes with creamed leeks

Cheese: Parmesan cheese served with the crêpes

Dessert: Seasonal fruit


Fridays: Legumes Day

Salad: Raw veggies (peppers, carrots) and hummus

Main: Zucchini “Marinata” (Thinly sliced zucchini with lemon, olive oil and fresh basil).

Cheese: Stinky cheese.

Dessert: Kouign-Amman, a buttery pastry from Brittany.


*Many of this season’s veggies are supplied by “Happy Hollow Farm” a community-supported organic family farm, when they don’t come from our garden.
